Pumpkins are traditionally used for decoration and pies. The varieties we offer are a standard Halloween variety and a small sweet variety that is grown for pies. The small sugar pumpkin can be used in any dish that you would use a winter squash such as acorn or butternut. The seeds of both varieties are delicious roasted after being cleaned. Both varieties take up considerable garden space because of their large prolific vines. Pumpkins tolerate more shade than any other squash. The vines are highly susceptible to frosh damage.
Each packet contains 5 grams of seed or about 70 seeds. Pumpkin seeds, like squash seeds, germinate well for about 4 years when stored in a cool and dry location.
